Day 1: Meeting of the group by the guide at the railway station in Izmail. Boarding the bus and starting the tour. Walk along the embankment, on the territory of which there is a natural and historical park of memory "Fortress":memorial-monument "Eagle", St. Nicholas Monastery, a mosque of the 16th century - the only building that has survived from the Turkish fortress. Visit to the Diorama "Storming of the fortress of Izmail". Here we will be given a fascinating tour and will be told about the most interesting facts related to the storming of the fortress and the history of our city.

Next we will have a bus and pedestrian excursion with an overlook of the main monuments of Izmail. 

Sergey Alexeyevich Tuchkov, founder of the city, significant figure and multifaced personality. He is the lieutenant general of the Russian army, military writer, poet and senator. He was a gifted man, a talented military leader and administrator.

The Holy Pokrovsky Cathedral was erected on the site of the old St. Nicholas Church. The bells been casted from melted Turkish guns - weighing 700 pounds.

We leave for Vilkovo, which is called "Ukrainian Venice".
Today we are waiting for a sightseeing tour of the city, which is the only city in Europe that is located on the territory of the "Danube Plavni" Biosphere Reserve. The peculiarity of the city is that part of it is located on the water. Instead of streets, there are canals along which they travel mainly on peculiar Ukrainian "gondolas" and motor boats. The channels are called eriks. Simple wooden bridges are thrown over eriks. You will get acquainted with the old part of the city, majestic Orthodox and Old Believer churches.

At the place where the Danube flows into the Black Sea, there is a symbolic sign "0 km". They say that it is considered a good sign to visit here and pass under it - it will bring good luck and health. Just think about it - more than 2.5 thousand kilometers is the path of the Danube, which flows into the sea right here, in a small man-made town – Vilkovo.
The nature here is full of life, many species of plants, animals, birds, waterfowl are listed in the Red Book. You will see many exotic birds that live in abundance in the floodplains: these are pink pelicans, geese, striped hawks, and the famous white-tailed eagles.
